Here is a listing of the various Ceremonies that I offer at this time. If there is something special that you'd like to have included in your Ceremony, please let me know. I would be honored to design a "new" segment for your Ceremony! Candle Lighting Ceremony: You may use a Unity candle of your choice or, if you’re interested, I like to use a Unity candle, made by Back Mountain Candle, which comes in two sections. You would each light one half of the Unity candle, using the tapers previously lit by your Moms or others. After you replace your tapers, I would invite you to push together the two halves “as two wicks become one wick and two flames become one flame…” Love Notes and Wine Ceremony: You and your fiancé write love notes to each other at some point before your Ceremony. They're placed in a box with a bottle of your favorite wine, which you open and share on your first anniversary. Ceremony may also be used without the wine. Hand Fasting, or Hand Tying, Ceremony: Ancient Celtic tradition where we get the phrase "tying the knot." You use 13 different colored ribbons that you may buy online or make yourself. I can send the symbolism of the colors to you. Ribbons are about 4 ft. long since I tie them around your wrists as you're holding hands. I talk about the symbolism, then I read a poem which starts "These are the hands of your best friend..." Hand Ceremony: Same as Hand Fasting Ceremony, without the ribbons - same poem is shared. Sand Ceremony: Each pours a different color of sand into a center container. Moms may be invited to pour first layer of white sand, which represents the foundation they gave you that you're building on. This Ceremony may also be used to blend families with children. Glass Ceremony: Same as Sand Ceremony, using small pieces of colored glass which are then returned to the company to be melted down into a creation of the couple's choice. I recently did a wedding where the couple was having Christmas Ornaments made from their glass pieces, to gift to family members. Tree Planting Ceremony: Couple brings in a small tree in a pot with some dirt already in it. They finish adding dirt and water it as I share about the symbolism. Love Locks© (Tree of Life) Ceremony: Parents have special message engraved on their lock, as do the couple. Parents place their lock onto the roots, representing strength and support. Lovelocks lock one time only; there is no key. Additional Lovelocks may be engraved and locked to the leaves if children are a part of the new family. Jumping the Broom: African-American tradition - symbolizes the beginning of their new life together with a clean sweep! Thank you for the opportunity to serve you on your special day!
